ROMANS CHARITY AUCTIONS |
22 June 2005
|
The Romans Group held an evening charity auction, dinner and dance at Trunkwell Mansion near Reading last week and ten members of staff from LIVE were invited, along with 20 other businesses including, Charles Church, Bewley Homes and Intelligent Finance. The local press were in attendance. The event was held in aid of The Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust and the Royal Berks Hospital Dingley Child Development Centre. Auction lots ranged from a signed David Beckham shirt to a Day at the Races at Sandown Park with lunch and afternoon tea. Peter Kavanagh, Managing Director of Romans said after the event "how genuinely shocked but delighted at the generosity of everyone present at the total sum raised of £26000 which exceeded last year". Live supported the event by sponsoring one of the lots, a pair of Tag Heuer watches and also managed to win several of the auction lots. The Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance receives no Government funding through the NHS and has to rely on charitable donations. The Dingley child development centre is raising funds for a new, purpose built facility. http://www.romans.co.uk |
