First Title has appointed Matthew Birks as Managing Director following the company's acquisition. Matthew Birks, 34, joined Live in 2000 and was appointed to the Board in 2003. He has served as both Operations and Commercial Director of the Group. He has wide experience in residential property gained in the Thames Valley and as a Regional Director in SW London.

Commenting on the deal, Matthew explains: "The staff at Live are delighted to be part of the First Title family. This is an exciting time for the Company and the panel. Everyone here has worked incredibly hard to make Live a success and this deal secures our future as market leader." Matthew takes over from Rob Sendall, who founded the business in 1996. Robert has joined the board of First Title plc and remains as Chairman of Live.
