Following the Government’s HIP update (18 July) and recent sensationalist press headlines, The Live Organisation is seeking to bring clarity to the market.

Tim Price , Sales & Marketing Director for The Live Organisation, explains, “This latest update from the Government merely outlines what is going to happen next June. Despite several news reports to the contrary, HIPs are still planned for introduction next summer”.

The Government has made a change to the make-up of the mandatory pack. The Home Condition Report will no longer be required. HIPs will be still be introduced with searches, other key documents and Energy Performance Certificates on a mandatory basis from 1st June 2007.

Tim Price adds, “I appreciate the Government’s apprehension regarding the HCR. Our focus at Live is to explore the consequences of this HIP amendment for our clients and the residential estate agent market in general.”
