First Title plc, the UK's leading provider of title insurance and mortgage processing services, today announced the acquisition of The Live Organisation Ltd, a leading provider of legal services in the conveyancing sector.

The Live Organisation was formed in 1996 and launched Conveyancing Live, its first no move, no fee service, which pioneered the use of online progress reports and SMS text messaging and has since completed over 100,000 transactions. The acquisition comes only 6 months after First Title acquired enact, the Leeds based volume legal conveyancing operation. Commenting on this significant acquisition, David Thorpe, Chief Executive Officer of First Title said "Live and First Title are ideally positioned to lead the market in the provision of Home Information Packs in 2007. We have retained the existing management team to build on their initial success".
