Live Prepares Clients For Search Price Increase

Live prepares clients for Personal Search fee rises

The Live Organisation, the UK’s leading provider of Home Information Packs, is preparing clients in advance of a new central government fee which will rise from £11.00 to £22.00 for personal search of the local land charges register, from 01 January 2010.

The fee change was decided by the Joint Ministry of Justice and Department for Communities following the local government consultation on local authority property search services.

Ben Carroll, Managing Director at The Live Organisation said: “This fee rise is beyond our control, however Live is working with the search providers to minimise the impact of the change and we plan to retain existing price arrangements for our agent clients.”

Tim Price, Group Sales & Marketing Director commented: “Live hopes that our decision not to pass on this fee increase to our clients will assist agents in terms of their pricing strategies for the new year and enable them to retain a competitive advantage on valuation appointments. Whilst the future of HIPs is uncertain, whilst they are here we will do everything to ensure we deliver a quality service to our clients.”
